Grandpa rich gave grandma Wendy a very beautiful necklace for their wedding anniversary. Here is luc thinking about eating it.

Nap 1,2,3 and 4

It's hard to leave Lucia napping. I want to watch her sleep.

Spring!

I made a sun tent in the backyard for the girls. It was so warm and pretty we just hung out

All the colors you have in your mind

Grandpa rich was playing guitar, like he does. Just casually. I was sitting on the couch with luc and realized that she was watching him with such interest. He played some great songs. Here's the set list from lucias first concert: Heartbreak Hotel, Lay lady Lay, Froggy Went a Courtin', the Dylan song that starts out " throw your ticket out the window...(?). She just gazed at him and the guitar. She loved it. But of course. What a lucky baby.

Maude & Lucia

Sarah brought the kids over & they all had fun. Luc mainly watched while the bigger kids played. Soon you'll be running around too, Lucia! Maude was especially funny. She's one. I made sandwiches for the kids and Sarah & I was about to ask what I could get for Maude to eat when she grabbed a square of indias sandwich and took a big bite! She's 14 months old. I was cracking up, I didn't expect it at all. I always think- ah! I should have taken a picture of the kids all together!! Darn it! So this time I got a few. They're wonderful.

Lululululululu

I found Sach and Lu and India hanging out on the couch. Sach was winning at a pillow fight with Lucia and she was laughing. I grabbed a camera to try to get a good picture of her with a huge smile while he kissed her. She just laughs and does her happy shriek. It's delightful.

7 months

Seven months old! Lucia is big and very funny. She loves to hang upside down, Sach holds her up and tickles her. She continues to be deeply facinated with her amazing big sister. She discovered her feet and grabs them. She smiles and laughs so easily. She chews on everything. She eats rice cereal, bananas, yams and avocados and stares drooling at anything we eat. She's just a sweetheart and we kiss and squeeze her constantly. She talks really loud sometimes- Heey! MaaaaaaWAAAAwawa!!! It's hilarious. We love her. Her eyelashes are so long and curl up. Her eyes are still very blue. No teeth at all yet. I need to weigh her. She doesn't like baths lately. She is just about to crawl- she gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth like a wind up car. She rolls all over, she crawls backwards somehow- or kind of scoots backwards. It's amazing. She wants to go where India is, she's very motivated. She makes great clicking and clucking noises for fun. She loves her papa and is excited when he gets home. She's just wonderful, I can't believe how big she is!

From Tina Fey's new book:

Ms. FEY: The mother's prayer for its daughter. First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither the Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches. May she be beautiful but not damaged, for it's the damage that draws the creepy soccer coach's eye, not the beauty. When the crystal meth is offered, may she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half, and stick with beer.

Lead her away from acting, but not all the way to finance - something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes and not have to wear high heels. What would that be, Lord? Architecture, midwifery, golf course design? I'm asking you because if I knew, I'd be doing it, youdammit.

May she play the drums to the fiery rhythm of her own hearts with the sinewy strength of her own arms, so she need not lie with drummers. Oh Lord, break the Internet forever, that she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers and the online marketing campaign for "Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed."

And when she one day turns on me and calls me a bitch in front of Hollister, give me strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, for I will not have that nonsense. I will not have it.

Love

On Sunday India and I were hanging out with Lucia and India looked at her drooling and smiling and said, " I LOVE you Luc!!!!" it was beautiful. Lucia smiled bigger and screeched so India told her again, more passionately. I want penny pie to stay just how she is except that she and India will have so much fun when they can run around and play.

Night owl

Here's luc getting a change at somewhere too near midnight. This is her typical middle of the night mood. So happy. So excited. Talking up a storm.

Papa Sacha's birthday

Here they are dressed up for Sach. After his cake we sat on the couch with a girl each and Lucia was laughing at India and screeching which made Sach and I laugh... It was really funny and beautiful.

Mamaaa

Sach told me that Lucia said "mama" today. She was crying for me while I was at work. When I got home & I was holding her Sach asked her,"Lucia, did you get your mama?!" and she smiled SO huge and shrieked and buried her face in my shoulder. Like she does.

Tub

Ah, here she is. Soaking in the sink. She loves the water and splashes with her hands & grabs it when it's pouring in. Such a beauty.

Luc

I can't even describe how delightful and sweet our baby is. She is just SO happy, so content. She wakes up smiling and laughs if India does anything to get her attention. She adores sacha and loves to grab his hair and bite his fingers. She screeches and coos when he comes home- it's wonderful to see. She's so sweet to nurse, funny now that she's a big six month old who gets distracted. She's just so special and has a really calm and cheerful personality. We are just over the moon in love with her, so lucky to have her. I still can't believe that Sach & I have TWO little daughters. How amazing. Lucia is too sweet. It can't even be explained. You would have to live here and see her first thing in the morning and put her in bed at night. She's changing so fast, doing new things every day. She's so bright and talks a lot. She loves her rice cereal but seems ambivalent about bananas. She loves company. Most of all she is fascinated with her big sister and watches her very intently. I was kissing her and told India I was going to eat her-! India usually says," NO don't eat my baby!" but this time she said ," let's cook her first! And make her into donuts!!" I can't say the thought hadn't crossed my mind.

Meyer lemons, blood oranges & abbocados

Aunt Laura and Ada came over & helped pick fruit! We have too much. They all had a wonderful time in the backyard, especially Lucia.

Baby doll

Lucia loves her baby doll that India gave her. I was holding her yesterday & made the baby say "hi Lucia!" and luc was so excited she was screeching and smiling & kicking.
