I still can't believe we have two girls. I was thinking about both of their halloween costumes today & how funny it is to have two to do. I'm so glad. India and I gave Lucia a bath in the backyard while Sonia cleaned today, so the house and the baby are both clean and smell so nice. I can't get a picture of her baths, I have to take one when Sach is here.

Oooooh, Aaaaaah

Sach was holding her tonight and she was half asleep on his chest with her little mouth open. I told him that she had been saying ,"ooooh"really sweetly a few times so he said it to her and she grinned in her sleep and made the shape with her lips for oooh. he did it for a while, cooing oooh or aaah to her and she was copying him, either making the right lips or saying, "oooh" or "aaaah" back and smiling at him. I remember India doing the same thing. Lucia's voice is so beautiful.

90 years old!

Grandpa Joe had his 90th birthday party today! We all went and had a good time celebrating. Here's Lucia napping with aunt Berta holding her.

One month old

Lucia is officially one month old today. It feels like a few days. She is just so sweet, so lovely and funny. She has big clear blue eyes and just looks so deeply especially late at night when it's quiet. I can't believe how intelligent and intent she looks when shes gazing at me. Sacha holds her and plays peek a boo with her. He lifts her little arms and does raspberries under them to make her smile. She seems to like it. India pets her head really gently and loves to hold her hand. She always runs into the room to check on her when she cries. The other day she ran into my room and said "look what I found for the baby!!!" and handed me a sweet doll that was her very first baby doll. I'll post a picture. Of course Lucia loved her and tried to eat her face. What else? She reminds me of a peach. Her pretty dark hair is a little longer. Her bellybutton looks like a little smile. Her eyelashes are getting longer, I'm so curious about her eye color. They're light grey blue now with dark edges. I've been playing a lot of music for her and it's fun to see what she's interested in. I love her name more and more, my little Lucia. Happy one month anniversary my little 7 lb sweetheart. We love you and can't kiss you enough but we try.

News

Sarah visited Friday and had her midwifery kit in her car complete with a scale...she weighed Lucia and she was just an ounce under 7 pounds! So big! I tried to get a good picture of her on the sling attatched to the scale buy she was crying too hard. I can't believe she's gained so much! I'm thrilled. We had such a nice time with Sarah & the kids too.

She laughed really hard in her sleep this morning. She's done it a few times now, so wonderful.

A few important things to know about miss penny pants: she has huge huge beautiful eyes, her fingers and toes are long like papa's, she is soft like velvet, she has dark pretty hair, her skin is pink like rose petals, she has a very sweet little voice, she's strong and grabs on to us. Sach said she's like a little pit bull when she wants to nurse. She lights up when she hears indias voice, she smiles for sacha the most, the first pixies song she heard was "here comes your man". I told her that it was about her papa. We listen to pandora stations while we nurse- we started with some basics- the cure, the smiths. We listened to across the universe. She hasn't heard Lucy in the sky with diamonds yet. She's just so sweet, we are enjoying her every day and all night (or what feels like all night) because that's when she is so alert and ready to play with her papa between nursing and burping. She burps really loud! Like a boy. She also pees like a fountain when we change her. I've gotten soaked a few times, she's fast. She likes to be kissed. I call her Lucia or pennypie, sach mostly calls her Lucy. She is just perfect. Sach took these pictures, she's about two weeks old.

Sept 25th

Born at 4:52 Saturday the 25th of September at mamas work- the hospital. Papa sacha was there and aunt Claire flew down from SF to be there. Water broke at 2:30 at home. I was worried & started to cry and India said,"don't cry mama Rosie, I will protect you!" and gave me a lucky penny. It was a full harvest moon just like when India was born. Lucia Penelope, 5 pounds 5 ounces, 18 inches long, posterior presentation, nuchal cord (cord around neck) born with one eye open ( sach calls her "left eye" sometimes), beiruit was playing, hopefully Claire knows which song! Papa cut the cord, Dr grey delivered. A perfectly wonder birth with papa and and Claire just like India. Thank you for being there and helping me so much! Sacha said I looked pale and tired and then she was born and the next time he looked at me I was glowing. Nice! Welcome, baby Lucia! We love you sweetheart.

Sach brought India to the hospital to meet her little tiny sister. I missed India so so much staying in the hospital I was so happy to hold her. She was thrilled to meet the baby and asked if she was out of my belly-? Yes, this is the baby who has been kicking us!

First trip in the amazing britax! We walked on the bike path, India ran ahead, Lucia napped happily.
