Five months old

So big, so lovely. Five months old today. Sach told me that she wakes up early when I leave for work and just yawns, stretches, talks to her hands and the ceiling fan, coos, farts, sighs... just very happy. Such a sweetheart. Laughing so pretty, raising one eyebrow, sleeping on her papa when I finally get home from work. Lucia, you are a really good room mate and I've had several.

One

One year ago today we found out that we were going to have you, Lucia Penelope. Right away I was thinking about India having a little brother or sister and how wonderful that would be for both of you. It's amazing that it was just a year ago! Look at you now. A big sweet baby. Almost five months old! Laughing at grandpa rich! Saying "hello" to grandma Gretchen. Nursing, talking, yelling! It's so funny, instead of crying you yell until I nurse you. We think you're so funny and darling and SWEET. We knew you would be wonderful but I don't think that we could have imagined a baby as delightful and lovely as you are, miss Penny pie. We are so happy you are ours.

Pam's dress

Pam gave me this beautiful hand sewn dress and tiny slip( that was hers!)when India was born. It's just so delicate. The tiny pintucks and scalloped edges are the perfect complement to lucias tiny fingernails and soft pink skin and delicate features. Its soft and has the littlest buttons you've ever seen. Soooo pretty.

Beiruit

I'm playing beiruit which always work for getting Lu to sleep. She was happy when I got home, thankfully. She laughed while I was changing her into jammies. I was telling her she was soaking wet and getting her chubby chins. She loved it. She smiled when India petted her head and when sach kissed her goodnight. Such a sweetheart.

Uh oh

Oh no. Lucia may have figured out that she doesn't like it when I'm at work. The last two times I worked I came home to her CRYING so hard. Poor sach & India. Poor Lucia. She is really happy once I'm here but what a long time for her while I'm gone. It's about 13 hours. Must feel like a few days to her. it does to me.

Oh Lucia, here you are trying SO hard to fit both of your hands in your mouth. There was so much drool.

Home again

We flew out of SF Sunday night. It's always hard to say goodbye to aunt Claire. She was a very thoughtful and sweet host, we all had a really nice visit. Especially Lucia! Thank you Claire!

Baby Devin's welcome party

Jen & Pete have a sweet little boy. It was so nice to see him in person and for them to meet Lucia. We had such a nice time! The house looked beautiful. White sangria, Thai food, pretty cupcakes! We just relaxed and hung out. It is so good to see an old dear friend and just feel like no time has gone by. It's always like that with jen. We got her the sushi baby book that India loves and the pixies lullaby album because we loved the pixies SO much when we were teenagers together & a little quilt for D. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of it! Lots of blues and mossy greens. It was sad to leave but we will have to visit soon with sach & India!
I told jen she should get a pretty blue or green swallow tattoo with Devin's name on it and she said I should get two. Nice idea, huh? I'm thinking about it.
